The prevalence of transphobia in US society means that trans- individuals face particular problems. From joblessness to homelessness, acts of violence and quality of life issues, the National Center for Transgender Equality fights for the concerns of transgender people. As a national social justice organization, NCTE “facilitates a strong and clear voice for transgender equality in our nation’s capital and around the country.” NCTE works for an end to discrimination and violence against transgender people through advocacy and education.
