Building LGBT political power from the ground up
The first national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization (founded in 1973), the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (the Task Force) remains in the vanguard for justice, freedom, and equality. The Task Force organizes and mobilizes the LGBT community to attain equality and political power. In addition, the Task Force has a strong presence throughout the nation with their headquarters in Washington, DC, and offices in New York, Los Angeles, Cambridge, and Miami. Recognizing that it is part of a broader social justice movement, the Task Force is committed to the advancement of respect and integration for all.
