Abortion Ban Dies in Mississippi

A bill to ban almost all abortions in Mississippi failed as house and Senate negotiators could not reach a compromise before an 8 pm deadline on Monday. Lawmakers attempted to find common ground on a bill passed by the House that would ban abortions in the state except for when a woman's life was at risk or she had been the victim of rape ir incest.

Mass. Court Says No to Out-of-State Same-Sex Marriage

Massachusetts's highest court ruled that 1913 statute that said out-of-state resident cannot marry if the marriage would be void in thier home state applied same-sex couples.
